“You Gotta Fall in Love with the Grind” – Dr. Sid E. Williams
Caring for yourself is often a grind.ย It’s repetitively doing the same positive thing over and over and over again.
For those who watched the US Open Golf Tournament this past weekend, Jim Fyurk was noted as being a steady handed grinder.ย The announcers kept saying that he wouldn’t beat himself because he repeated the same good shots over and over again.ย That’s his mark as a player and has been his entire career.ย Grinders don’t beat themselves because they KNOW repetition keys success.
A typical professional golf tournament will be won by a player who is double digits under par. Not the US Open.ย It’s winner is typically around even par.ย This year’s winner, won at one shot OVER par.ย That’s a big shot to the ego of a professional golfer but humility to the PRO-cess results in success.
I know it can at times get monotonous stopping in for your Chiropractic Adjustment week after week, year after year.ย There are plenty of times you say, “I don’t want to go today, I’ll wait until tomorrow.”ย Then tomorrow turns into next week, then two weeks, then three, then a month and before you know it, you’re off the leader board in the most important tournament you’ll ever play.
Grinders just do.ย They show up.ย They play the game.ย And they LOVE it.
“You gotta fall in love with the grind.”
