People will often call the office and ask if we provide different types of therapies or modalities.ย Ninety-nine percent of the time that question revolves around Physical Therapy modalities like electric stimulation or massage.ย My answer to that question is always that we provide Chiropractic care.ย Because that has come to be the case, we have to define that as what we call Principled Chiropractic.ย In the next three weeks, I am going to explain my deliberate decision to stick with the true essence of Chiropractic and what it is.
Dictionary.com states the definition of “Principled” as: Imbued with or having moral principles. Rather than list the dozen or so definitions of the the word “principles” I urge you look that word up yourself as it will come into play in a future post.ย I am a Principled Chiropractor because I feel it’s my moral obligation to teach you how the body actually works in physical, spiritual, and mental ways.
When we align our minds with the fact that the body heals itself and allow the spiritual nature to drive us to that end, we learn that the physical body will follow what our mind sets out and believes.ย This is the purpose of this blog, to help you see and learn that what we believe to be will be.
That is the essence of Chiropractic.ย That you don’t need anything else but to change your mind because the body follows the head, a principle I learned in martial arts.ย In Chiropractic, the body follows the mind… and it’s a spiritual journey to control the mind.ย That is why encouragement and hope are so important.
And that’s why true Chiropractic works with the nerve system because our spirit, our energy, flows over/through/within our nerves.ย We want to keep it flowing so our body’s receive maximum input.ย We want to keep our brain stem free and clear so it can receive direction from God about how to handle the situations it encounters.
That’s why the relationship is primary.ย Just last week, I was not doing well in my mind.ย My wife and daughter were away for the week and it was the boys and I at home.ย I was frustrated trying to balance the office, home, (transportation for) baseball games, and a completing a couple of projects around the house before heading out for Memorial Day.ย I was down, feeling guilty for asking for help, taking to heart the negative stares and beating myself up for not being better.ย My spirit was aching.ย Then a friend reminded me how many people I help every day, rides to and from youth group, baseball, late nights planning and that we all have responsibilities and obligations in life.ย It wasn’t me, it was my mind running away.ย That was my adjustment for the week.ย Once I accepted that, my mind relaxed, my body followed andย the back ache I had went away.
Regardless of the symptom or condition, the same will happen for you.ย You just need to talk about it, open up and allow yourself to heal.
Next week we will dive a little deeper.
