So once we got the basement walls closed up, painted and finished, three of the outlets and the outlet in our master bath stopped working…. Deep breath, eye roll, shake my head…
This is the stuff I find frustrating. It was all working. I had my cousin who is an electrician come over and look at it. He couldn’t figure it out. We have outlets that are connected to light switches, every light is connected to two or more switches, and we cannot figure out the combination. No, we didn’t connect them that way. The house came that way. It’s pretty screwy.
So now, the area that was designated as Suzy and Faith’s arts and crafts area is void of power. None of their power tools work, fridge doesn’t work and guess who’s fault it is? And if an electrician can’t figure it out, what’s next?
Home renovation is the shit that frustrates me.
It’s ok to get frustrated, angry, bothered. What are those feelings teaching us?
For me, I do my best to avoid home renovation. Like most, I’m happy doing simple stuff. I get that sense of accomplishment. For the big stuff, I prefer to hire a contractor. They know what they’re doing and can problem solve those kinds of issues better than I can. It’s ok and beneficial to admit we don’t know everything and need help.
