For as long as I can remember, people have told me that my first impressions are of a stoic, serious, tunnel visioned individual.ย But then after getting to know me, I loosen up and my “funner” (yes, I said funner intentionally) side shows itself.ย I never really thought about it until recently, but it’s time for a change.
Change is hard.ย Its uncomfortable.ย It stretches us to become something we are not YET.ย That’s why we have to do it.ย Standing still is moving backwards slower.ย A mentor of mine once said, “In order to get where you are going, you have to let go of where you are.”ย Like if you intend to go for a run but never pull your rear end off the couch, you’ll never walk, let alone run.ย So we have to let go.ย Goodbye stoic and hello Joy!
I thoroughly enjoy what I do with you all.ย Adjusting people is my calling.ย I like the “Breath of life” that happens at a first adjustment.ย I enjoy all of your faces when you feel the energy course through your nerve system.ย The redness that happens as your bodily awareness wakes up.ย I like the noises everyone makes.ย From “Oh, God” and “Holy ____!” to “Wow, that was amazing” and “Thank you, I feel so much better.”ย I love it all.
So my next phase is to show that love and appreciation.ย Rather than acting stoically as if it’s old hat, I will respond with “Power’s on!” Or, “Yeah Baby!” Or, “You are a healing machine and functioning at your potential!”ย High fives, hugs, and joy all around.
This month, join me in sharing your joy with others as you interact with them.ย Let’s share notes on how they respond.ย I bet it’s well worth it!
