Today is May 30, 2022 and it is Memorial Day. Today is a day of remembrance. Remember those who have gone before us, who’s shoulders we are standing on. None of us would be here, this country would not be here if not for them. Remember what they stood for and why.
Freedom is a beautiful thing. It allows for individuality within a group. You can be who you are, whenever you want because of the freedoms paid for by the lives of others. It also unifies those with common beliefs and allows for conversation of differences for understanding. Freedom is a responsibility we all have to each other. We need to honor these ideals stated above because they were fought and died for. When we remember, we won’t fall prey to those who would seek to divide us.
Pause and give thanks to those who gave their all, their lives for us today.
