Think about the last time you had a moment where you knew what was happening with your child even though you were there or weren’t paying full attention.ย See it clearly in your mind.
If you’re a parent of a toddler, you likely thought of that moment where you were “doing the laundry” and realized your child was walking along a table or near an electrical socket.ย In that moment you thought to yourself, “S#%t! ” as you turned around in time to catch them fall.
If your child is in sports, you thought of the time, you were talking with your neighbor in the stands or reading a text and you looked up as your child scored a goal or did something amazing.
If you are the parent of a teen, it was likely that moment when you saw them apply your teaching to a life situation and you had that pride that comes with it, knowing that you did well and they are learning how to “adult”.
We have these moment because we aren’t thinking.ย We’re just in the moment, flowing through our life and day’s activities.ย That text may be another of your children texting a pick up time or your spouse reminding you to “pick up milk on your way home.”ย It’s also important stuff.ย But we look up and we KNOW as we do, something amazing is about to happen.ย Or, maybe its something harmful and that protective instinct kicks in for us to help them.
One thing I hope COVID has taught people is that you don’t need a test to KNOW if you are sick.ย You KNOW when you are sick.ย You KNOW when you are healthy.ย Just like you KNOW your child is up to something.ย This is how health is intended to be.ย We have to stop thinking to achieve it.ย It’s that space where nothing else matters.ย You KNOW you’re on the right track.ย You KNOW that no matter what you encounter, you’re going to pull through.ย You KNOW that you’ve done all the preparation to KNOW that you are doing the right thing.
Now think of that person whom you know DOESN’T KNOW with regard to their health.ย Send them to us, we’re here to help them KNOW.
