We often think of labor as the work we do.ย For our boss, around the house, to pay the bills.ย But is this why we labor?
The Book of James and Colossians each talks about laboring for the Lord rather than our own selfish needs.ย Yes, we need shelter, food, water, and transportation.ย But God will provide those things when we happily do our work for Him.ย When we do, he fulfills our needs.ย He also gives what we ask for as a parent provides for their children.ย Not for our selfish needs and reasons, but because we work with right intention.
While society wants a four day work week and the government requires a Monday holiday, remember that we are directed to work six days and rest every seventh.ย As we fulfill God’s requests of us, He also fulfills His promise(s) to us.
What is your why?
