The following is a common conversation Iโve been having with people.
โBut doc, I have to take these medications, you donโt know what I feel like without them.โ
โYouโre right, I donโt know how you feel, but I know how I felt, so I can relate. When you were subluxated, you did have to take them and now that you are clear and un-subluxated, do you really still need them?โ
โBut doc, Iโve tried getting off of them before and it has never been a good thing.โ
โYou were always subluxated before, you arenโt now, and thats a better situation for youโ
โI donโt know if I trust myself without them, I have to think about it.โ
What do you notice about this person? What I notice is that they donโt trust in their own innate abilities, they lack faith. Did the egg say to the sperm โOh, I donโt know if we can become a child?โ Of course not, they just did it. There was no brain, or DNA at the moment of conception, but they became a child anyway.
Faith, or trust is something you have or do not have, there is no grey area. When we do not trust we are relegated to the sidelines, whimpering about life, living in fear. But what happens when we do trust and keep faith? What happens when we commit?
We succeed. Every time. Like climbing a mountain, you may slip along the path, you may fall, you may get tired, but you keep on going. You have faith that youโll make it to the top. You are committed to seeing the pinnacle of your journey. And when you do, the view is AMAZING! More often than not we surprise ourselves at what we CAN DO. And all we had to do was take that first step.
There is another topic that relates to this weekโs Simple Truth which we’ll follow up with next week.
Have a great week!
