I currently see many people acting in fear across the country and globe. Locally, it’s still about COVID. While many say they tire of the media frenzy, a great number of people are still making decisions based on this fear. I’ve recently been to doctor’s office’s where masking and vaccination are require or they won’t care for you. And yet another where neither was even on the radar.
Looking across the globe and the crisis in Ukraine highlights people’s fears. Ukraine wanted NATO protection. Russia feared NATO expansion. Energy fears fuel both sides as well as high prices. Its all fear based expression.
Confidence says “ill be me, you be you.” Courage says I’ll do what I do as you do what I do even though I don’t like it. Both jointly say, I’ll “allow” you to be you and do what you do, even though it’s different from me. Confidence reminds us that our internal peace is derived from our God to self connection. When you are not at peace, when you are in a state of fear, you need more God.
