If these past several years have taught us anything about our modern healthcare system, it’s that it’s an industry.ย It’s all about the money, and the bottom line makes the decisions. I’ve heard Doctors, Nurses, Hygienists, and Physician Assistants all share that same story; that they see how the dollars are the true boss.ย One difference between us is that I care about the care.
One of the best parts of being in a small, non-corporate office is that I make the decisions. When I make decisions about the office, I do so based on the care.ย When I decide to add a service, I ask, “Will this help them connect to their innate? Does it help them heal? Can this help them be well?”ย When I get three “yeses”, I move.ย Anything less is unacceptable.
People have often asked, how do I find such caring people?ย It’s because I flesh out if they can build relationships.ย Have they shown me that they care about people?ย We can teach them how to perform the office tasks.ย I can’t teach them to care for someone.ย Either they can (and they get hired), or they can’t (and I move on from them).
You know who makes the decisions, and you see me every day.ย When decisions are made that affect you, you get to look me in the eye and know where my heart is at.ย I’m front and center – not hiding in some board room.ย That’s what I want and expect from my doctor.ย That’s what you get when you support a small business.
