Today Iโd like to discuss an important issue regarding your Chiropractic process called the โplateau.โย The plateau can be the toughest phase of your process both mentally and physically.ย It can also be the easiest when you follow some simple advice.
Most parents bring their kids having allergies or some digestive or breathing issue.ย After a series of adjustments over the first few months the problem is resolved.ย ย All systems are โgo,โ they are โout of the woods,โ and the changes the patient has been experiencing seem to slow or stop.ย This is the plateau phase of the process.
It is also the MOST CRITICAL phase of the process as it is here that parents sometimes ask themselves if Chiropractic is still working and if it is worth it to continue.ย During the plateau phase of the process, those symptomatic changes wonโt be seen any more because you are Asymptomatic.ย But the body is still working to correct the cause which is the interference in the nerve system.ย It is still healing and adapting.ย It is still preparing and training itself to be better.
Think of it like thisโฆ When you see a building being built, you only see the initial phase of the process.ย You get to see the girders go up, then the windows and finally the brick and mortar.ย But is the building now completely built?ย No; workers are still inside running electrical and phone wires, floors are being laid, internal walls erected and painted.ย But on the outside, the building hasnโt changed.ย After the build is complete, the building isnโt finished.ย It functions as a living and work space, and shelter.ย It serves this purpose until someone comes along and chooses to neglect and ultimately destroy the building.
I said this phase can be the easiest if you follow a simple piece of advice.ย That advice is โkeep going.โย I feel sorry for those who choose to quit.ย They always end up back in our office with the same problem that brought them in the first place.ย Think of how poorly the building would function as a living or work space if someone chose to not complete the process.ย For those who choose to move along the Chiropractic process, it produces a lifetime of health and innate clarity.
