What does a rental car have to do with Chiropractic?ย
Have you ever had that feeling that something was imminent? ย Two weeks ago I had the sense that my car was about to break down. ย At the time “I was really busy” and put off looking into it. ย Two days later, my car’s alternator died and I had it towed. ย All of my mechanic’s loaners were being used by other customers, so I picked up a rental car.
When I was returning the rental car, I heard that little voice inside my head say “Don’t return the rental car yet, your car won’t be ready on time.” ย I replied to myself, “that’s ok, we have people willing to help us out in picking up my car tomorrow if it comes to that.” ย I promptly returned the rental car. ย About a half an hour later, I received a phone call from our mechanic that my car wasn’t going to be ready as planned and they would finish it the next day. ย (DOH!!!)
I smiled and told my innate “thank you” as I hung up the phone. ย I knew full well that I was warned, but didn’t heed the warning. ย Granted it all worked out thanks to some friends who were willing to help, but imagine how much smootherย the process had I obeyed. ย Listening is always more beneficial than ignoring.
We all need to listen to our innate more and more and follow up on it’s advice and directions. ย Every time I haven’t it’s only afterward, that I see how much easier life would have been had I listened. ย ย In this case, it would have made life easier for a number of people, not just myself. ย In fact, in 99.99% of the cases, it’s about making life better for someone else rather than ourself. ย The question is, are we willing to sacrifice ourself to listening and obeying a greater calling, or are we solely focused on ourselves?
We all have experiences like this one. ย Share yours with us below. ย We love hearing from you.
