Last week we talked about remembering the rental car and how not obeying our innate leads to a mess. ย This week, I want you all to Remember the Chamber Meeting.
I remember a while ago I got the thought to check the traffic report before leaving for the office. I saw there was an accident on Route 44 and I decided to take the back roads in. ย While driving, I received another thought to stop into the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce meeting on Route 10…
I actually argued with myself about this one. I have never been to a Simsbury Chamber meeting because they conflict with our office hours. ย I hemmed and hawed with myself and came up with no less than a half dozen reason to NOT go to the meeting. ย Isn’t it funny how we do this? ย Or am I the only one?
Finally, I was passing the location of the meeting and I chose to obey and turned into the parking lot. ย I was greeted by some folks who new me and I began speaking with folks around the room. ย All the while I was fretting, “I’m missing patients who need me.” ย I kept asking myself, “why am I here?” ย When it was my turn to speak, I said who I was, what I did and why I Thought I was there. ย I then excused myself to get into the office.
The whole drive into the office I was worried that people would have gotten up and left and they were mad at me for being late. ย When I walkedย into the office (sweating my face off, mind you), I learned that the folks who would have normally been in that early didn’t show. ย Now I’m worrying that I did something wrong for them not to show!! ย But I obeyed and good things happen when you obey your innate.
I’d love to say that someone came in a couple days later saying they heard me and knew I wasย talking to them, but I honestly don’t remember. ย That’s not the point of this post. ย The point of THIS POST is to listen and obey. ย Despite all my fretting, all my internal arguing, I still went into the meeting. ย The next time it happens, I’ll remember,ย Keep Calm and Obey.
We all have experiences like this one. Share yours with us below. We love hearing from you.
