This year’s Food drive will occur from November 1 – November 17 with all proceed benefiting the Avon Food Pantry located at St. Ann’s Church being delivered on November 18. ย This annual event helps over 150 Avon residents whom are seniors, have disabilities or are veterans. ย About half of those who receive assistance from the pantry have children. ย Thank you for your support every year and we look forward to help stock the shelves of the pantry for the long New England winter.
Our annual Holiday toy drive will renew it’s affiliation with the Avon Social Services department again this year. ย We’ll be providing what we are calling an Angel Tree. ย Last year, you the members of Nardi Family Chiropractic supported over 50 children to directly receive a gift for the holiday season. ย When I go to my quarterly Dynamic Essentials Seminar in Atlanta, GA, we talk about “Serve for the sake of serving, give for the sake of giving and love for the sake of loving.” ย It was just awesome the way you all fulfilled the spirit of the season and gave fromย your own abundance. ย The plan is for the Angel Tree to be up by Thanksgiving week.
Have a great autumn, we hope you take some time to see New England in all of it’s glory. ย We took a day trip along the Mohawk Trail ย (MA RT 2) in Mass last weekend. ย It’s one of my favorite drives. ย Many Native American stops along the way and a great walk along the river. ย Make a reservation at the Eagle’s Nest on the hairpin turn in North Adams for lunch or dinner. ย Well worth the view.
If you prefer something for the kids, this Saturday is the Annual Keene Pumpkin Festival. ย Keene, NH is such a picturesque town. ย Each year they set out to break their own Guiness Book Of World Records for number of Jack-o-lanterns in one place. ย They erect a large structure and begin filling it in with pumpkins and Jacks to create a large display. There is also pumpkin bowling, live entertainment, and a costume parade. ย Check them out on-line, Keen Pumpkin Festival.
We’ll talk again next month!
