A Lil’ Slice of Heaven

Can you see it?  Heaven in your mind.  Can you imagine what heaven looks like?  Or is it just grey and black with disembodied spirits floating around?  Do you know that we have “little slices of heaven” here with us now and that Chiropractic reveals a Lil’ slice of Heaven?

When I was a child, I was afraid of death.  I would run around pulling out my hair at the mere thought of eternity not on Earth.  At the time, all I saw was darkness with little specks of light like stars meandering in the distance.  I could picture myself as being but not being anywhere.  At times, I still wake with this image at night.

Nature is a Piece of Heaven

I’ve always had an affinity for nature.  It makes me happy and I can’t help but smile when i’m in it.  I love viewing and taking pictures of rolling hills, mountains and oceans. Often, i’ll sit bac, watch and admire animals in their own natural habitat.  One time, I went “deer hunting” with a cousin and had a big ol’ buck, 30 yards from me and all I could do was video record.  It’s a Lil Slice O’ Heaven, right here on Earth.

Sensation is a Piece of Heaven

People often ask me what I get out of skiing.  It’s about being in nature, among the trees, feeling the cool wind in my face.  Sometimes, as I’m gliding down a trail, i’ll close my eyes and lift my arms to let my other senses take over the experience.  I trust my feeling to guide my feet when to move or turn in accordance with the memory in my mind of what lies ahead.  It is peaceful and relaxing for the moment.  True PEACE and true REST.  Another Lil Slice O’ Heaven.

Health is a Piece of Heaven

Chiropractic is about connecting “man the physical with man the spiritual.”  We preach harmony and unity of the two rather than separation.  We talk about a world without disease or dis-ease, without drugs, surgery, or need.  That this can all be achieved in this life through lifestyle changes, workouts, nutrition, and a clear nerve system free of poor thoughts or desires.  We’ve all had those moments and can have more of them right now, right here.  They too are a Lil Slice O’ Heaven.
