Last week we discussed how when mental impulses increase, life increases. Iโd like to look at what happens in the interim, while life is actively increasing. James Arthur Ray, teacher and philosopher once said: โSpirit is always for further expression and further expansionโฆ in other words, if you are not growing, you are dying.โ
Many of us are happy when we reach goals in our life. The hole-in-one, a raise in our salary, or specific award are common. But they pale in comparison to what is possible when allow our inner spirit to express itself and expand our lives into the lives of others. When we stop seeking to express and expand our future, we start dying. Life truly is an either/or experience. Let me illustrateโฆ
A hole-in-one is certainly a great experience. It takes perfect balance, a perfect swing, a perfect mindset, perfect strike, and perfect distance. But it is minor compared to that golfer sharing their passion with a non-golfer. It is the experienced and passionate golferโs love of the game that is transferred and felt by the novice which lights a candle of passion within that novice. Here they have moved beyond themselves and into a greater living world of growth, expansion and expression.
What if the experienced golfer never shared his or her passion with a novice? What if they kept all their experiences to themselves? What if they never expressed the elation of feeling the hole-in-one? It would be selfish and egotistical. It would have been about the โme.โ And that is a type of dying.
