What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a natural form of health care that focuses on the causes of physical problems rather than treating the symptoms.ย Chiropractic is based on powerful premises:
- The body is self-healing.
- The nerve system is made up of the Brain, Spinal Chord, and nerves
- The nerve system connects to and regulates all cells, tissues, and organs in the body.
- We all have an internal intelligence ( electricity, power, vitality) which flows over/through our nerve system and sustains our life
- The spine houses and protects the nerve system, can get locked into misalignment and interfere nerve system function (subluxation) leading to reduced health
- The Chiropractic adjustment restores alignment and removes interference in the nerve system to restore vitality
Summed up, Chiropracticโs purpose is to allow your bodyโs mental impulses (โpowerโ) to flow freely through your nerves and body without any interference thus allowing you to express maximum life.

Do adjustments hurt?
No.ย Most people feel a sense of relief and connectedness after their adjustment.ย Some may feel sore, as if they had a good workout.ย When this happens, it is quick and in the moment then leaves.
What is the โcrackingโ sound I hear when I amย adjusted?
The โcrackingโ sound is air releasing from your joints.
Your bones areย notย breaking, rubbing against each other, or being damaged.ย In fact a proper adjustment may be delivered without a sound.
This is different from when you crack your knuckles.ย Those sounds come from yourย cartilage tearing.
Are adjustments safe?
Yes.ย Chiropractic adjustments are SAFE.ย The CT dept of Public Health states that between the years 2000 and 2008, Chiropractors accounted for only 1% of all disciplinary actions taken. Chiropractors have the lowest malpractice premiums of any professional (healthcare or otherwise) which is a testament to the safety record of Chiropractic adjustments.

Are Chiropractors doctors?
Yes. Chiropractors receive their Doctor of Chiropractic degree after 8+ years of undergraduate and graduate studies and five national board exams.ย The average Chiropractor receives 4600+ hours of classroom study compared to less than 4000 for medical doctors.
Is Chiropractic care appropriate for children?
Yes!ย birth is the most significant trauma in life and many parents have their infants and children checked.ย Many childhood issues that are set aside by parents and doctors can be traced to the spine.ย Even adult health problems could have been eliminated during childhood had they been adjusted.ย ย Adjustments are adapted to the size of the individual.ย For example, adjusting an infant requires the same amount of touch as if checking a tomato for ripeness.
What techniques / modalities do you use?
Our techniques include Upper Cervical Specific, Toggle, diversified, Thompson, Activator.ย As a straight, principled Chiropractic office we do not use any modalities such as electric stimulation, ultrasound, or laser.ย We prefer to help the body heal rather than temporarily relieve.ย Therefore, Nardi Family Chiropractic is adjustments only.
