What dreams do you have? ย What dreams did you have that you gave up on or that weren’t realized?
I was going to be a baseball player. ย I wanted nothing more than to patrol center field for the Yankees. ย Growing up, I would come home from school and pick up a ball and run out into the back yard. ย I’d pull friends together in the local field, it didn’t matter how many we had, we’d play ball. ย It didn’t matter if it was wife ball, home run derby, or a simple game of pickle. ย I always had a ball in my hands.
My issue wasย that I didn’t learn how to hit until I was 16 and by then, the others were that much better than me. ย I spent money on batting cages as often as I could. ย I got better and better,ย and friends saw the improvements. ย But there were the naysayers who told me I wasn’t good enough. ย I listened to them and quit playing.
We all know failure at some point in our lives. ย It’s what we do and how we act after that failure that helps determine our character. ย ย School is hard, marriages are tough, or work can be a grind. ย The lesson I learned through baseball was to never give up, once was enough. ย Your dream can become a reality when you put in the effort and work. ย That’s why I am a Chiropractor, why many of us are still married, and we find joy in our work.
The Bible tells us to be as little children. ย Children dream. ย Keep dreaming because you are an adult. ย Don’t give up because a co-worker doesn’t like you, or a doctor told you the odds are against you. ย They lie… because they’re afraid you’re right andย that makes them wrong. ย Pursue your dream, you can do it.
