The family and I were cleaning the house a couple of weeks ago prior to some company. I was always fascinated how some people clean their house to a shine and others couldnโt care less. For us itโs about taking the time and caring enough to make cleanliness a priority, just like we all have to do with our health.
But Iโve heard other arguments to house cleaning, it takes too much time, there is so much to do, and my favorite, โyouโll never get it all and then it just gets dirty again.โ All are opinions at best. The last comment carries some reasonable weight as it is both true and factual.
Letโs restate the โit just gets dirty againโ comment in terms of our health:
- Iโm not going to brush my teeth because theyโll just get dirty when I eat again.
- Iโm not going to shower because Iโm just going to get dirty during the day.
- Iโm never going to wash my hands because bacteria are everywhere.
When in these terms, the comment sounds funny, donโt you agree? Letโs keep going with the โget it allโ comment:
- Iโm not going to exercise because Iโll never be strongest person alive.
- Iโm not going to eat well because Iโll have to keep changing more.
- Iโm not going to invest in the market because Iโll never own all the money.
Here is another set of comments to think about in the same terms:
- Once you go to a Chiropractor you have to go forever.
- Iโm not going to a Chiropractor; they just crack your back.
- Whatโs the point of Chiropractic if Iโm going to subluxated again anyway?
How many times have you heard these comments? I know I have at one time or another in my life.
Chiropractic is like cleaning your house or taking a shower. When you donโt do it, the grime builds up and then you have a bigger problem on your hands. But when you clean, shower or get adjusted regularly, you keep the dirt, mold, and stress at manageable levels.
Now, I wonder, how often is regular?
