Todayโs Simple Truth will close a three part series on Certainty. We have previously discussed what certainty is and how to apply it to your life. Today we will discuss how to gain certainty.
Certainty comes from within. It is something you have or possess inside of yourself. It comes from your soul, from your inner being. So how do you get it if it doesnโt come from outside yourself or from others?
You BE with YOU. You must find what works for you to get quiet and just BE. You must find that time to commune with God, alone. For some it is meditation, others singing and praising, some find it in athletics like running (runnerโs high). The idea is that your mind gets quiet.
Iโd like to share what works for me and how you can begin the same or a similar routine. For me itโs meditation and out-loud prayer. I was once told that prayer is you talking to God and meditation is you listening to God. I like that answer, it has always sat well with me. So I take three times a day to meditate and pray.
My meditations begin with 49 breaths, broken into four sets, 7, and then 3 sets of 14. The breaths are fast, forceful and deep. After each set, I tend to sink a little deeper into meditation. Often images or thoughts are dropped into my consciousness and I just stay with them as long as I can. When the image or thoughts end, I begin the next set. The process can take as little as a couple of minutes and has lasted as long as an hour for me. There is not a right or wrong answer to time, just what is. I donโt attempt to make it the same each time, I just do the meditation.
Iโm often lead to verbally give thanks and reverence by sharing my life with God. I feel everything that happens in my life comes from Godโs love and abundance. My life is His blessing on me. I discovered a far more powerful experience when I opened up and expressed that gratitude outwardly.
Youโll find what works for you when you commit to finding it. Anyone who has ever kept that commitment has. Youโll also find your true self, one that is far more than we think we are. At the same time, youโll find a self that is far more humble than you can possibly imagine. Youโll realize your gifts and want to share it with others without care of what they think of you.
And youโll realize all your issues are just that, your issues. They are in fact nothing at all, be they health, addiction, strife or belief. Enjoy finding your certainty and changing your life.
With love,
Dr. Nardi
