Yesterday, I texted a friend of mine that I had gone to see the Van Halen concert on Saturday.ย He responded with, โI heard he (David Lee Roth) wasnโt that good and his old 80โs wardrobe didnโt accommodate his Dependsโ
My reply: โDave doesnโt use a script nor โgo by the bookโ when he performs.ย If someone expected a studio rendition of the songs I can understand (that view point)โฆ I thought it was a great showโฆ I think Dave is a great performer who plays to the crowd, for the crowd and I pray I have his energy when Iโm โ60โ.
In my experience you canโt script life and when we use a script things seem โcannedโ and prepared rather than honest and sincere.ย David Lee Roth talked with the crowd, had fun, and shared an intimate moment about his love for his dogs.ย So what if he is pushing 60, he was real and can still play.
Where in your life are you running a script?ย Where and when can you be more sincere and real with the folks you interact with?
