ASHN are a company who administers the Chiropractic benefit provided by your insurance company.
They are known for reducing patient care below doctor’s recomendations, only paying for pain, and not paying for wellness. The average ASHN patient recieves 6-12 Chiropractic visits per year; even when on paper, and/or verbally, your insurance company states you get to receive “X” number of visits.
Currently in Connecticut, Cigna uses ASHN and beginning July 1, 2011 Aetna will also. Anthem has tried and failed in the past to utilize the ASHN service in CT.ย My personal opinion is that Anthem will again attempt to contract with ASHN at some time in the future.
In my opinion, you have two options:
1.ย Contact your insrance company and protest the use of ASHN as an administrator of your Chirorpactic benefit.
2.ย Find a Chiropractor who will work with you to provide the services you need and want at a fee that is affordable to you.
Chiropractic has and always will be the the science, art, and philosophy of all things natural, the detection and correction of the vertebral subluxation, and the connection between you and the innate intelligence that gives you LIFE.
