Last week we told the story of Dr. Gil LaMarcheโs son and his fireworks experience.ย It was a challenging story for some to handle.ย I know because there were a number of people who opted-out of receiving more of our newsletters.ย This is a good thing.ย It tells me that we are making an impact, telling the right stories, and making folks think about their lives and their health care paradigm.ย On the flip side of that coin, we obviously donโt want that to happen too much.ย This week weโll tell you Dr. LaMarcheโs personal story.ย After reading it, please forward it to someone you know and advise them to sign up for out weekly newsletter.
Dr. Gil had been experiencing allergy like symptoms, most notably shortness of breath.ย It had gotten so bad that he couldnโt walk down his office hall or up a flight of stairs without being winded.ย He kept telling his staff that he was fine.ย Soon, one of his assistants made him an appointment with a friend who is a general practitioner.
At that appointment which Dr. Gil reluctantly attended, it was discovered he had a heart problem and was referred to a cardiologist who was ranked top five in Canada and a teaching professor at a university.ย After his cardio exam it was discovered that Dr. Gil needed a double lung and heart transplant.ย His prognosis wasnโt good.ย He was given about 12 months to live.
Dr. Gil went home, contemplated his options and chose not to have the surgery.ย He didnโt like the quality of life issues that accompany a double lung and heart transplant.ย He sold his Chiropractic practice and โretiredโ as he put it.
A month into โretirementโ it hit him that he had never been a chiropractic patient.ย Sure, he got adjusted regularly.ย But he never went through a program specifically designed for him as he always asked his people to do for them.ย So he did.ย He went in for an exam, had X-rays taken and a scan.ย The x-rays showed he was subluxated from C7 through T4 (lower neck/upper back where the shoulders meet the spine).
Guess what areas of the body those nerves serve?
Yes, those nerves serve the lungs and heart.ย After three months of SIX DAYS PER WEEK adjustments, he was able to climb stairs without issue.ย After six months of six adjustments per week, he had a follow up cardio appointmentโฆ
At that appointment, the nurse did the normal tests and the doctor came in and asked Dr. Gil to come back later in the day for a follow-up.ย It seemed the machine was malfunctioning and the second machine had an opening later in the day. When the tests were repeated, the second machine reproduced the same findings.
The cardiologist came in dumbfounded; he now had two machines that werenโt working.ย He explained to Dr. Gil that a normal reading for this test was 15 mm of HG (mercury) and during the past seven months he regularly tested around 57 mm Hg.ย But these tests were showing that he was at 27 mm Hgโฆ Dr. Gil was improving!ย The cardiologist said that it was impossible.ย That people who needed double lung and heart transplants donโt get better, they get worse.ย They have a 24 month prognosis after diagnosis and most die within 12 months.ย They never get better and he didnโt understand what was happening.
As Dr. Gil was the last appointment of the day, he spent the next three hours explaining Chiropractic and innate to the cardiologist who accepted the explanation and innateโs ability to help him improve.ย Dr. Gil never had another cardiologist appointment.ย Now, heโs a professor at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Tx and speaks all over the world about Chiropractic and his and his sonโs experiences.
Recently he was offered a complimentary cardio check-up from a prestigious Dallas Hospital.ย The attending physician did not believe that the man in front of him and the man in the chart was the same person.ย โIf you werenโt standing in front of me, I wouldnโt believe the person talking to me was telling me the truthโ he said.ย โPeople who need double lung and heart transplants donโt improve, this is impossible in our medical paradigm.โ
Again, Dr. Gil took time to explain Chiropracticโs paradigm, that the body is self-regulating, self-healing and as long as the nerve system is clear of interference the body will heal.ย Again, the cardiologist agreed with everything Dr. Gil was saying.ย Now the school and hospital are beginning a study to show how Chiropractic and the bodyโs innate wisdom can help people in Dr. Gilโs situation.
Who knows more about the body, the God/power/wisdom which created it, or the man who studies the creation?
What would have happened if Dr. Gil wasnโt adjusted SIX DAYS PER WEEK?
If that were you, would you have gotten adjusted six days per week?
I know you are smart enough and strong enough to do what Dr. Gil did.
Keep a lookout in the upcoming weeks of A Simple Truth for โmiraclesโ that happen here at Nardi Family Chiropractic.
โHave you more faith in a pill, potion, or lotion or the power that made the body?โ
