I have mixed emotions about 9/11 and the tributes every year.
On one hand I fully support remembering our service men and women, those civilians who perished, and those who battle with the aftermath of the event due to the loss of a love one.ย My heart goes out to these men and women who worked in the towers on that day, the brave souls who gave their all to help, and the families who still mourn.
On the other hand, every time we do this, I remember that the people who did this had a purpose to make us change our lives and the way we live because of their selfish act.ย Not a single 9/11 tribute honors these criminal cowards.ย But I can’t help but think that without their ideological indulgence, there wouldn’t be the tributes; and 3000+ more people would be alive today, making this country and world a better place to live.ย I am grateful towards those who fight for us and serve all of us.
I often think the thing to do is to forget about these bastards and focus only on the American lives.ย Within all my anger there is a voice which reminds me that forgiveness is always the answer.ย It is difficult, it is not easy.ย We will never forget, but we can forgive.
The best I can do, is express myself openly and honestly, and keep hope alive for those whom this is a painful and emotional day.
May God bless you all.
