Yes, some of you have made note that I, the Yankees fan am coaching the Canton Little League Red Sox. Yes, I wear the hat. No, we don’t have coaches jerseys. Yes, I would wear one if we did. No I don’t find it a conflict of interest. our little league team and Major League affiliations are completely separate and distinct. They have no bearing on one another. In fact, I’ve told my children as my father told me, if that major league contract comes your way, you sign it, regardless of the team. You make a name for yourself by playing your heart out, then go where you want in free agency. Which brings up an interesting point of view regarding principles.
Let’s be frank, what I’m talking about above is baseball. It’s not global economics, communism, medical mandates, world hunger, or genocide. Do you want the opportunity to choose how you care for yourself? Or do you want to HAVE TO do what a doctor or politician says? What if your innate knows with every ounce of your being that doing nothing IS the right thing…. But you are forced into something you know is wrong and don’t agree with because the majority or a judge says you HAVE TO.
