Did you make dates with folks this past week? If you haven’t yet, you have time to schedule them up. But you have to get going.
Today’s exercise is to spend 20-30 minutes per day in prayer and meditation. That means actually freeing your mind from distraction. Thoughts will enter, let them flow through your head and exit as quickly as they come. Pay them no mind, no focus, not attention. Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the ground (preferably) or floor. Breathe in slowly and deeply. Relax. Begin by giving thank for all that you have in life. Next ask forgiveness for your sins. Lastly, ask God what He would have you do this week/month/year/life. Spend the majority of your quiet time here.
If this is your first experience with prayer and meditation, it’ll take time to get into a flow. Do it once each of the next several weeks.
Novices can move onto two or three times per week.
Those who are regularly praying and meditating do it every day.
Be well and we’ll talk more next week.
