“Love triumphs over all”
In the midst of the plague during the middle ages, church-goers responded to the situation by moving into the cities and hard hit areas. During the cold war the US was known for protecting the rights and freedoms of others. Mr. Rogers once said, “in times of trouble, look for the helpers.”
Many people are working from home, continuing with daily life as best they can. Others are treating the pandemic like a vacation. Yesterday, we saw more people on the Rails to Trails than any other April in the past. During this time, i’ve also heard of people who are volunteering to head to New York and other hard hit cities to help those in need.
Fear can grip us to only think of ourselves in times of distress. What am I going to do? How will I (and/or my family) survive? Then there are those in times of trouble who run towards the danger. They work to ease the pain of the infected. How can you help? I encourage you to do that.
I commend these folks today. Whether they be first responder, military, or volunteer.
